Fourth grade finished up their most recent unit in Social Studies with the Black History Wax Museum! Each student was responsible for choosing, researching, and a writing a speech about an important figure in U.S. History. At the wax museum, they dressed up as their person, and presented their speeches.
Student and parents were able to experience a black history program like no other. There were kings, queens, dancers, speakers, and singers from different time periods (Then/Now). The audience moved to the music rhythm beats or danced on their feet.
Come take a stroll through a wax museum like no other. The Fourth Grade students ended their Social Studies unit with a culminated presentation "Black History Wax Museum". The students researched important United States figures of their choice
There is nothing like being rewarded for things you like doing. The winners of this year's Sneaker Contest earned a filed trip to the Haitian American Museum for their outstanding artwork/sneaker design. A round of applause for Ms. Townsel for coordinating the Gym Shoe contest for Barack Obama Learning Academy students.
During this event, students participated in a competitive environment where they collaborated to solve mathematical problems. Families from both campuses attended to partake in enjoyable academic activities.
