Director of Teaching and Learning, Dr. Amber Williams

The Teaching & Learning Department of Hazel Crest School District 152.5 serves as the academic heartbeat of the district, driving instructional excellence, professional growth, and student-centered innovation. Led by Dr. Antoinette Gray, Director of Teaching and Learning, in collaboration with Superintendent Dr. Cynthia Levy, the department is committed to empowering educators and students alike to reach their full potential. Its core mission is to educate, elevate, and empower.

The Department of Teaching and Learning serves as the instructional foundation of Hazel Crest School District 152.5, leading the district's commitment to academic excellence, continuous improvement, and equitable learning opportunities for every student. Guided by Director of Teaching and Learning, Dr. Amber Williams, and in partnership with Superintendent Dr. Cynthia Levy, the department is dedicated to supporting educators, strengthening instructional practices, and ensuring that every student is equipped to achieve at high levels.

With more than 17 years of experience in education as a middle school mathematics teacher, instructional coach, school administrator, and district leader, Dr. Williams believes that student achievement is the result of purposeful instruction, collaborative leadership, and a relentless focus on grade-level attainment. Dr. Williams leadership philosophy centers on empowering educators through coaching, data-informed decision making, meaningful professional learning, and a culture of continuous improvement where every learner is challenged, supported, and inspired to succeed.

Aligned with the district's mission of empowering students to "follow their unique path to greatness", the Department of Teaching and Learning oversees curriculum and instruction, assessment, professional learning, instructional technology, federal programs, and academic initiatives that promote student success. The department works collaboratively with school leaders, teachers, families, and community partners to ensure learning experiences are rigorous, engaging, and responsive to the diverse needs of every learner.
